glasgow storytelling development officer

The main work of the Glasgow Storytelling Development Officer is to enable the development and funding of new and innovative storytelling programmes throughout the city, and to support the further development of the Glasgow Storytelling network. It involves working closely with The Village and with Culture and Sport Glasgow, City Council Departments, the Glasgow Storytellers, Glasgow Festivals personnel, the Glasgow storytelling clubs and the Scottish Storytelling Centre.  

 

 Over the past year the Development Officer has 

 been   working with storytellers and organisations

 across Glasgow to develop storytelling activities

 appropriate to the different areas of the city.  This has

 included intergenerational work with organisations in

 Possil, Maryhill, Darnley and Calton, storytelling

 training with people from different faith and ethnic

 backgrounds in Govanhill, a storymaking project in ten

 schools throughout Glasgow in collaboration with

 Education Services and Libraries, the development

 of educational resources to support storytelling tours

 of the canal at Maryhill, as well as establishing a

 storytelling presence at various Glasgow festivals.
