glasgow storytelling development officer
The
main work of the Glasgow Storytelling Development Officer is to enable the
development and funding of new and innovative storytelling programmes
throughout the city, and to support the further development of the Glasgow
Storytelling network. It involves working closely with The Village and with
Culture and Sport Glasgow, City Council Departments, the Glasgow Storytellers,
Glasgow Festivals personnel, the Glasgow storytelling clubs and the Scottish
Storytelling Centre.
Over the past year the Development Officer has
been working with storytellers and organisations
across Glasgow to develop storytelling activities
appropriate to the different areas of the city. This has
included intergenerational work with organisations in
Possil, Maryhill, Darnley and Calton, storytelling
training with people from different faith and ethnic
backgrounds in Govanhill, a storymaking project in ten
schools throughout Glasgow in collaboration with
Education Services and Libraries, the development
of educational resources to support storytelling tours
of the canal at Maryhill, as well as establishing a
storytelling presence at various Glasgow festivals.
