The Village Storytelling Centre seeks to offer the people of Greater Pollok and beyond a facility that provides a safe and welcoming environment in which to explore their roots and their relationship with the world around them. This exploration will be opened up through story – traditional stories from other cultures, global stories from our world today, reminiscence, and stories from the Bible and other faiths.
Our core activities include
Primary
school visits in school term for storytelling, drama and craft
activities.
Reminiscence
sessions with local day care centres and residential homes for the
elderly.
Monthly storytelling Ceilidhs.
Helping at primary school visits will give you the chance to spend an interesting and enjoyable morning with children. Helping at reminiscence sessions with older people is a chance to meet folk in an informal setting, provide a cuppa and a biscuit, and listen to their stories
Further information regarding volunteering opportunities is available by contacting the centre by email or telephone, or you can have a look at our job descriptions.
